
Kelly Clarkson (in full Kelly Brianne Clarkson) was born 24 April 1982 in Fort Worth, Texas. She is an American performer, songwriter and TV host. She was a contestant in 2002 when she took home her first American Idol talent competition. Clarkson grew up within Burleson, Texas, a suburb located in Fort Worth, where her voice was first noticed by her teacher in the choir at her school at the age of a seventh-grade student. Following graduation, Clarkson was transferred in Los Angeles, where she was unsuccessful in her attempt to enter show business. Clarkson was chosen to participate for the Fox Broadcasting Company's American Idol singing competition, which allowed viewers the opportunity to select their preferred performer. Clarkson's charisma, voice, and humour were immediately adored by the viewers. The prize she received for winning the contest was $1 million as well as an agreement to record with RCA.
